Electronic manufacturing force
Honeywell recently announced that its electronic materials business unit will expand its manufacturing capabilities in the Asia Pacific region to produce 300mm PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) sputtering targets. Honeywell's factory in Zhenchuan, South Korea will provide leading technology materials for semiconductor production on-site to customers in this important region.
The existing production capacity of Honeywell's Korean factory includes material production to support semiconductor manufacturing with a diameter of 200 mm (referring to the diameter of silicon chips used to produce multiple integrated circuits or chips).
Honeywell's new 300 mm PVD target manufacturing capability for the Asia Pacific region will become a reality in the second half of this year, which is part of the company's overall business in the Asia Pacific region. The chips produced in the region are increasingly being exported to various parts of the world. Honeywell's factory in Spokane, Washington also produces 300mm PVD targets.
